Wound Care Center

The Wound Care and Hyperbaric Therapy Center at Northern Dutchess Hospital

Our Purpose: The Wound Care Center is a diagnostic and therapeutic center for acute and chronic problem wounds, and soft tissue radiation necrosis; as well as non-wound related injuries; such as carbon monoxide poisoning and decompression sickness. We serve the adult and pediatric population.

Hours of Operation: Monday to Friday, 8am to 4pm
(Closed 12-12:30pm for Lunch)

Scope of Services: Patients may be referred by a physician, health care worker, or self-referred. A physician will complete a history and physical, order diagnostic tests, if indicated, and determine a plan of care following established clinical practice guidelines.

Services offered include:

  • Wound consultation/evaluation, diagnostic and ongoing assessments, and treatment
  • Non-invasive vascular studies
  • Specialty wound dressings
  • Bio-engineered skin grafts/substitutes
  • Compression therapy
  • Wound cultures and biopsies
  • Treatment of wound, skin and bone infections including antibiotic therapy
  • Patient and family education
  • Pressure off-loading devices and footwear
  • Debridements
  • Negative Pressure Wound Therapy
  • Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT)
