Poughkeepsie, NY- Health Quest is pleased to partner with Beekman Fire Department to offer a free car seat safety seat check and installation station on the first Friday of every month (December 7, 2012, January 4, 2013, Feb 1, 2013, March 1, 2013) at the Beekman Fire House (316 Beekman Poughquag Rd.). A nationally certified car seat technician will be on hand from 6:30-9:30 pm.
At each site, technicians will inspect your current seat or teach you how to install a new seat. Please bring your children so they can be fitted to their current seats. Special needs seat fitting is available.
Properly installed and used child safety seats reduce the risk of fatal injury by 71% for infants and by 54% for toddlers in passenger cars. Yet the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has estimated that close to 3 out of 4 parents do not use child restraints correctly based on the child’s age and size, vehicle specifications or other criteria.
