The Thompson House celebrated its 15th anniversary in September 2009.

Because of its close proximity to the hospital, the Thompson House specializes in the care of residents with medically complex needs. It also provides short-term rehabilitation for those who plan to return home.

An interdisciplinary team consisting of doctors, nurses, social workers, dietitians, physical, occupational, speech and recreational therapists, develops an individualized care plan for each resident. Other ancillary services include medication management and audiology, vision, dental and podiatric care. Each resident is medically supervised by an internal medicine physician with a special interest in our population.

The Thompson House offers all the amenities and special touches that make it seem just like home.  There are handsomely decorated, private and semi-private rooms with large picture windows.  Spacious and comfortable rooms for family gatherings and visits are located in quiet corners of each unit. Table service dining, in-house laundry services and a beauty/barber shop add to the ease and comfort of daily living.

The Thompson House property is beautifully landscaped with patios, a gazebo and a canopy available to residents for outdoor enjoyment in summer months and for family get-togethers, parties and events.  A full range of activities and outings, religious services for all faiths, along with flower and vegetable gardens, offer diverse recreational, social and spiritual opportunities for residents.
