Ways To Give
NDH Foundation
The mission of NDH Foundation, a 501(c) 3, not-for-profit organization, is to raise and manage annual, capital, special and endowment funds for the present and future needs of Northern Dutchess Hospital and The Thompson House. The Foundation office is located on the Hospital's campus, in the "Stone House" at 99 Montgomery Street.
The Foundation staff raises funds in a variety of ways, including special events such as the annual Starlight Ball and the NDH Golf Classic, direct mail appeals, and grants. In addition to coordinating the many details that go into the planning and production of these projects, the Foundation also writes and designs various related publications, such as the Starlight Ball Journal, the organization's Annual Report, special materials for mail appeals and event programs.
The Foundation also oversees the gifts of time via the volunteer services department, who donate more than 30,000 hours of services to the organization annually and are a key component of the organization. The volunteers include some special groups: the NDH Auxiliary, which runs the Hospital-based gift and thrift shops, and the NDH Mothers' Club, who not only volunteer their time, but also undertake special fundraising projects to support the organization's mission. Further, volunteer members from the Red Hook and Rhinebeck Masonic Lodges have for the past 25 years been doing nightly patient rounds, delivering snacks and good wishes to patients each night.
The Foundation office is open Monday - Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and the public is welcome to stop by and say hello or to ask questions.
