Support Groups

*Healing Steps Support Group - Optimal health includes mind, body and spirit. The Wound Care Center and Hyperbaric Therapy at Northern Dutchess Hospital strives to support spiritual well-being to patients and caregivers offering a mentored support group by a wound care nurse specialist and scheduled guest speakers.

Please join in on our free Healing Steps Support Group to encourage patients, family members, and caregivers emotionally and spiritually through all steps of wound healing. All are welcome. The Group will be held the last Tuesday of every month and are up to an hour in length. Held the last Tuesday of each month at 5 p.m. at the Wound Care Center.  Please call Lauren Stephenson, RN, BSN, CWCN at 871-3881 for other details and to RSVP.

*Bariatric Support Group - meets the first Tuesday of every month at 7 p.m. The group is for those considering or who have had Bariatric surgery. Topics include vitamin therapy, exercise, compliance and lifestyle changes. Call 871-3600.

*Perinatal Loss Support – This service is open to anyone who has suffered a loss, including mothers, fathers, grandparents or any other adult. The group is led by a licensed Psychologist and available on a one to one basis as needed. Please call 518-537-2400.

*Senior Caregiver Support Group - Providing care for an older family member can be a rewarding and enriching experience. It can also be stressful, time consuming and emotionally taxing. This group will discuss the many aspects of care giving and promote self-care and stress reduction techniques. For more information call Allison Gould, LCSW-R at 876-4745.

*Infant & Pre-School Support Play Group for Parents - an informal support/play group for parents and their children. Mondays, 10 a.m.-noon, Cafeteria Conference Room. $3/Session. No registration required. Follows the Rhinebeck and Red Hook School schedule—if there is a school closing or a delay, the group does not meet. For questions, call 871-3500.

*Mom to Mom Breastfeeding Support Group – meets Fridays at 11:00 a.m. in the Neugarten Family Birth Center. This is a weekly get together for new moms to share information with each other. A Lactation Consultant is avail-able for questions. Call 871-3365 to register.

*A.W.A.K.E Across The Hudson - Sleep Apnea support group- meets every other month. For those living with Sleep Apnea and their partners. A speaker will present different topics related to all aspect of sleep each month. For information and scheduling, please call 871-3611.
