Rhinebeck, NY…Close to 400 guests attended the NDH Foundation’s 11th annual Starlight Ball on June 19th, held under elegant tents at the Dutchess Country Fairgrounds. The NDH Mother’s Club was honored, a group whose mission to serve the women and children of Northern Dutchess Hospital dates back to 1953. The event was graciously co-chaired by John and Ani Marvin and Dr. Lucas and Dr. Maureen Terranova and raised close to $100,000 for NDH Foundation.

About the NDH Mothers’ Club
The Northern Dutchess Hospital Mothers’ Club was originally inspired by Beatrice Cozine, the Administrator of NDH from 1923 – 1966, as a way to get more young women involved. Since its conception in 1953, the Club has remained true to its mission of providing important funding to enhance services for mothers, women and children. Recruitment efforts have been remarkable and they have continued to engage bright, creative, energetic and dynamic women who are seeking a point-of-entry for getting involved. The Club members serve as true ambassadors, encouraging collaboration from local merchants and involvement from friends and neighbors. This dedication has resulted in extraordinary support for the Hospital, with the Club providing funding for everything from baby blankets and rocking chairs to state-of-the-art mammography technology, a water birth tub room and a specially-equipped pediatric emergency treatment room. And, perhaps the most visible tribute to their efforts has been their role in bringing the Neugarten Family Birth Center to fruition, which celebrates its 25th anniversary this year.

About the Event
The night included a three-course dinner by Abigail Kirsch Culinary Productions, music by live ten-piece orchestra, New Power Soul and a silent and live auction featuring wines from around the world. Special thanks to major sponsors NDH Medical Staff, Cross River Anesthesiologists, PC and NDH Auxiliary, Rhinebeck Savings Bank and DRA Imagining, PC. All of the floral arrangements on the tables, including beautiful topiaries, were donated by Bella Fiori and were also available for purchase to benefit NDH Foundation.

“The Starlight Ball is an extraordinary outlet for community support and it is a wonderful platform to honor those people who have helped to accelerate the Hospital's healing mission”, says Deborah Breen, Executive Director of the NDH Foundation. “So many people and businesses come together and make this event not only a significant fundraiser for NDH Foundation, but also, an evening to remember for the honorees and all of the guests.”

NDH Foundation is a not-for-profit foundation whose mission is to encourage philanthropic support for both Northern Dutchess Hospital and The Thompson House. The Starlight Ball is just one of several fundraising events hosted by NDH Foundation. For more information, visit www.health-quest.org/ndh.
