Mothers' Club

What is the Mothers' Club?

The Mothers' Club is a not-for-profit group of volunteers who raise funds to benefit women and children who receive care at Northern Dutchess Hospital. Since 1954, the Club has contributed over $500,000 to the Hospital by hosting elegant dinner dances, silent auctions, fashion shows and other fund raising events. These projects not only raise important dollars, but also bring together members of the community to highlight the important mission of the Mothers' Club and the Hospital. In recent years, funds have supported the Neugarten Family Birth Center including a water-birth tub for laboring moms, a dedicated children's corner in the visitors' lounge, an infant abduction alarm system, birthing beds and many other necessities and niceties for the Center.

Other Programs and Projects

The Mothers' Club sponsors the following programs:

  • Commemorative Wall in the Neugarten Birth Center - members of the community can pay tribute to a friend or relative or commemorate a birth
  • W.H.A.L.E (We Have A Little Emergency) - child car seat identification program
  • That's Using Your Head - child bicycle helmet program
  • Santa's Day fundraiser
  • Donation of toys to be given to children who undergo lab work, receive emergency care, or are admitted to Northern Dutchess Hospital

"Working with the Mothers' Club has been a very rewarding experience for me. Potential new members drop by a meeting and are immediately welcomed. They find a lively, interactive group developing new projects. We work hard, enjoy each others' company and laugh a lot. I have made wonderful friends and I am proud to be associated with this diverse group of capable, dynamic women." -Karen Volino
