Volunteer
Welcome!
Welcome and thank you for your interest in volunteering at Putnam Hospital Center. Volunteers are a valued and essential part of Putnam Hospital Center. We have over 250 volunteers-a generous and talented group of men, women and students who give their time to PHC each year-making a difference to our patients, their families and our staff.
What is the volunteer program?
The PHC volunteer program is designed to meet a variety of needs and goals. Share your talents and experience! Become a part of our volunteer team and make a difference! There are many vital opportunities available. While helping others, you will make many new friends, learn new things, have a choice of assignments and have fun. Discover how you can enrich your life and the lives of others. If you've been looking for a place to volunteer where you can make a difference, look no further than Putnam Hospital Center.
At Putnam Hospital Center, we make an effort to find or to create volunteer opportunities to match a person's interests to ensure a successful volunteer experience. Some volunteers enjoy working in direct patient contact while others may prefer one of our non-patient areas. Some examples of volunteer assignments include: The PHC Gift Shop, the Eagle Eye Thrift Shop in Brewster, the Eagle Eye Too Thrift Shop in Mahopac, information and reception desks, clerical or administrative support, fundraising, assisting nursing staff and escort/transport services.
