Medical Staff Adds Three Members

Sateesh Babu, MD        Igor Laskowski, MD        Romeo Mateo, MD

           The Board of Directors of Putnam Hospital Center recently approved the appointment of three new members to the Carmel hospital's active medical staff-vascular surgeons Sateesh Babu, MD, Igor Laskowski, MD, and Romeo Mateo, MD.

            Vascular surgeon Sateesh Babu, MD, of Briarcliff Manor, who is affiliated with Vascular Associates of Westchester, received his medical degree from Government Medical College, Karnataka University in India.  His postdoctoral training included a rotating internship at the Medical College Hospital there, an internship at St. Luke's Hospital in St. Paul, MN, a surgical residency at Jewish Memorial Hospital in New York, and a surgical residency and fellowship in vascular surgery at Metropolitan Hospital Center, New York Medical College in New York.  Dr. Babu is board certified in general surgery and vascular surgery and is a Fellow of the American Board of Surgeons.

            Vascular surgeon Igor Laskowski, MD, of Chappaqua, who is affiliated with Vascular Associates of Westchester, received his medical degree from Warsaw Medical University in Poland.  His postdoctoral training included a rotating internship  and surgical residency there, a surgical residency at New York Presbyterian Hospital and a fellowship in vascular surgery at New York University Medical Center..  Dr. Laskowski is board certified in general surgery.

            Vascular surgeon Romeo Mateo, MD, of Valhalla, who is affiliated with Vascular Associates of Westchester, received his medical degree from Brown University.  His postdoctoral training included an general surgery internship at Lincoln Medical and Mental Health Center, New York Medical College, a surgery research fellowship and general surgery residency at Rhode Island Hospital, and a vascular surgery fellowship at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation.  Dr. Mateo is board certified in general surgery and general vascular surgery.
