Behavioral Health

The staff at Putnam Hospital Center's Behavioral Health Services Unit would like to welcome you as you begin your journey of recovery.

PHC's Behavioral Health Unit has been in existence since 1990 to assist individuals with getting the help they need in a supportive, safe and caring environment. We are an acute short-term mental health unit with a commitment to assisting individual with stabilization and recovery. Throughout your stay at PHC our mutual goal will be to aid you with developing a plan for discharge and with ensuring that supportive services (family, therapy, and housing) are in place once you leave our facility.

Our mission is to function as a multidisciplinary team of dedicated mental health professionals who provide inpatient stabilization for patients experiencing acute psychiatric illness, as well as ongoing intensive outpatient treatment. A continuum of care is provided involving the least restrictive setting that is clinically appropriate in order to optimally reintegrate patients into their functional roles in the community in the most cost effective way.
