 You Can Make a Difference!   

Vassar Brothers Medical Center welcomes caring individuals to be part of our team of volunteers. Join us as we continue to grow to meet the growing needs of our community! Call Today!

  • Patient Support Group: Special people provide emotional support to cancer patients.
  • Patient Family Liaison: Empathetic people are needed to provide an important link between physicians and families in the waiting areas.
  • Materials Handling: Efficient, friendly person to help deliver supplies throughout hospital.
  • LDRP Hostess: Friendly person needed any or all weekday mornings (8-9 AM) and afternoons (12-1 PM) to assist Dietary with the Buffet for new mothers. 
  • Fishkill Guest Services: Outgoing, warm people to welcome and escort patients at Medical Mall in Fishkill.
  • Surgical Services Waiting Room: Busy patient area needs compassionate person to liaison between the families of surgical patients and hospital staff.
  • Information Desk: Very busy area needs outgoing, friendly people to assist visitors.
  • Emergency Department: "People people" needed to greet patients.
  • Gift Shop: Monday (9:00-12:00, 4:30 - 8:00); Wednesday (12:30-4:30, 4:30-8:00); Thursday (9:00-12:00, 4:30-8:00); Friday (12:30-4:30, 4:30-8:00); Sunday (11:00-5:00) shifts. (substitutes needed).
  • The Corner Cupboard: Sponsored by the VBMC Auxiliary, supplies light refreshments and beverages weekdays 8:00 AM - 12:00 PM, 12:00 - 3:00).  
  • Flower Delivery: Saturday (12:30-3:30 PM), weekday substitutes needed.
  • Clerical Support: Medical Staff Office, Medical Records, Staff Development, Volunteer Office.
  • Student Volunteers: Students enjoying summer vacation are welcome in all areas! 
  • Year round opportunities available as well.
