When To Visit Urgent Care

The Health Quest System offers many different ways to access medical care. Know the difference between an ER visit, a visit to a Health Quest Urgent Care Center, and when to visit your primary care provider.

When to visit an emergency room:

  • Severe bleeding
  • Difficulty breathing
  • Chest pain or pressure
  • Broken bones
  • Partial or total amputation of a limb
  • Trauma or injury to the head
  • Sudden dizziness or difficulty seeing
  • Severe abdominal pain

When to visit an urgent care facility:

  • When your primary care doctor isn't available
  • Lacerations-deep cuts or wounds that may require stitches
  • Sprains, strains, or deep bruises
  • Mild to moderate asthma attacks
  • Ear infections
  • Sore throats
  • Insect bites

When to visit your primary care doctor:

  • Regular physicals and check-ups
  • Immunizations
  • On-going health concerns
  • Referrals to a specialist
  • Disease management and treatment
  • Follow-up from an urgent or emergent care procedure
